Peggy Lee was in top form in 1955, in every aspect of her career. As a vocalist, she was at her peak. Pete Kelly’s Blues (her best acting role) and Lady And The Tramp (she co-wrote six songs and provided the voices for four characters) were both set to be released. That same year, she recorded 49 selections as radio transcriptions for the World Program Service. These recordings were not released to the public, but used by radio stations with unexpected time to fill. The music is more jazz-oriented than many of her Decca recordings of the time. Lee’s cool but inwardly heated voice is joined by frequent collaborators, pianist Gene DiNovi, guitarist Bill Pitman, Bob Whitlock or Don Prell on bass, drummer Larry Bunker, Ramon “Ray” Rivera on congas, harpist Stella Castellucci, and trumpeter Pete Candoli. This series compiles the best selections from those 1955 recordings, beginning with 14 tunes on this first volume. The recordings were mastered for vinyl at Infrasonic Mastering and pressed at Furnace Record Pressing on color vinyl, Exclusively as part of RSD Drops.

It’s a Good Day / That Old Black Magic / Autumn in NY / I May Be Wrong / I Gotta Right / I Get A Kick / What is This Thing / The Positive / Me / People Will Say We / What Can I Say / Beautiful Morning / Taking A Chance / Bye Bye Blackbird

The second and last album from Richard Butler's post-Psychedelic Furs project arguably was as good as anything his first band put out…this 1997 release sported the Furs' arty blend of post-punk and glam embroidered with some well-placed electronica and alternative touches. Best of all--it rocks! And Butler's distinctive vocals have never sounded better in all their snarling tenderness. Never before on LP, our reissue comes in a jacket with printed inner sleeve containing white with black swirl vinyl that matches the album cover.

Love, led by the brilliant and complicated Arthur Lee, is considered one of the most influential American rock bands of all time. The 2015 reissue of their album Reel to Real showed the band at the height of their rock/soul powers, and included twelve previously-unreleased outtakes from the original sessions. This special release features five of those tracks on vinyl for the first time, including three original Lee compositions virtually unknown before the 2015 reissue: the sweet and soulful “You Gotta Feel It”; a catchy rock-pop tune called “I Gotta Remember”; and “Do It Yourself”, a blast of high-energy funk driven by Lee's strutting vocals. The EP also includes the original version of “Everybody's Gotta Live” (recently featured in the film 'Jojo Rabbit' and covered on Mac Miller's posthumous album Circles) as well as a full-band performance of that song and an alternate take of “Singing Cowboy”.

1. Everybody’s Gotta Live (Album Version) 2. You Gotta Feel It (Outtake) 3. I Gotta Remember (Outtake) 4. Do It Yourself (Outtake) 5. Singing Cowboy (Alternate Take) 6. Everybody’s Gotta Live (Electric Version)

This newly-unearthed 1968 recording was the buzz of the jazz world in 2020 and one of the biggest points of interest has been the identity of the unnamed high school janitor who recorded this extraordinary concert. For the album’s release Grandmixer DXT worked his magic to bring the audio from the concert into the 21st century. Palo Alto: The Custodian's Mix uses the audio from the original tape to put you in that high school auditorium in October 1968 and lets you feel what it was like to be in the room. Additionally, Thelonious Monk’s signature will be etched into the runout groove.

One of the very rare chances – quite possibly the only chance - to listen to the genius of Ennio Morricone engaging with the jazz musical language. Early in Johnny Paycheck's pre-fame career, he toured as a sideman and bassist for George Jones in the early 1960s. At that time, he entered a recording studio in an attempt to secure a record deal as a solo artist. The recordings have been long forgotten and unheard until now. The Adams Brothers, who gained notoriety on Mike Judge's Tales From The Tour Bus episode on Paycheck, produced the songs and worked as Paycheck's band. These recordings showcase Paycheck's considerable talent long before the music world took notice. Paycheck performs songs by some of country music's most iconic songwriters such as Cowboy Jack Clement, Mel Tillis, and Bill Anderson. PVRIS marked a new era with the release of Use Me in 2020, as frontwoman, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer Lynn Gunn confidently stepped forward as PVRIS’ leader and sole architect. That newfound sense of freedom defined the record, on which Lynn wrote, played the entirely of the guitar, drums, and bass parts, cooked up beats, and of course, sang vocals. Awash in glitchy beat-craft, airy guitars, and spell-binding vocals, the record included 070 Shake collaboration “Use Me,” explosive song “Hallucinations,” plus “Dead Weight,” “Gimme A Minute,” and “Death of Me” all brought to life by producer JT Daly [K. Flay].

The deluxe edition of the acclaimed third studio album featured five new tracks, including remixes of fan-favorites “Dead Weight” (remixed by Nicole Moudaber) and “Loveless,” (remixed by Lynn herself), plus brand-new song “Thank You” featuring RAYE. For the first time ever, these five tracks are now available on coke bottle clear vinyl, exclusively for RSD Drops.

The contributions of J Dilla to the world of hip-hop can't be overstated, and nowhere is his legacy more apparent than his work as a member of Slum Village. A founding member of the trio, alongside rappers T3 and Baatin, Dilla provided the group's distinctly esoteric, free-wheeling sound. By the time Fantastic Volume II hit Dilla was well on his way to his status as a hip-hop legend having produced cuts for Common, Busta Rhymes, Erykah Badu, A Tribe Called Quest and many more. Fantastic Volume 2 had fans and many critics saying that Slum Village, and Dilla in particular, may “single-handedly save rap music.” Perhaps that statement is hyperbole but many consider Fantastic Volume II to be Slum Village’s finest work. Ne'Astra Media Group presents the album in a 20th anniversary edition with a deluxe obi-wrap and an exclusive one-time-only Golden Pearl Splatter vinyl pressing as part of RSD Drops.

For the first time ever, all of the Small Faces classic Decca and Immediate singles from 1965-1969 are included on one LP. Every 7” single A-side is here: UK & European No.1 – ‘All Or Nothing’ - Top 20 hits – ‘What'Cha Gonna Do About It’, ‘Sha La La La Lee’, ‘Hey Girl’, ‘My Mind's Eye’, ‘Here Come The Nice’, ‘Lazy Sunday’, ‘The Universal’ – USA & worldwide hit singles ‘Itchycoo Park’ and ‘Tin Soldier’ – and more! All have been newly remastered to vinyl from the original Decca and Immediate master tapes by Nick Robbins at Soundmastering Studios in London under the supervision of surviving Small Faces member Kenney Jones (who also pens a touching introductory sleeve note). All the correct single versions (including USA-only 7” ‘Mad John’ from UK no.1 LP ‘Ogdens’ Nut Gone Flake’) have been included and sound incredible in their original mono mixes! The LP sleeve features previously unseen photography from the two legendary photographers most associated with the band during their career across the two record labels – Tony Gale (Decca, front cover) and Gered Mankowitz (Immediate, back cover).

Pressed on red, white and blue “Mod” splatter-vinyl and limited to 3,000 copies. Each LP will also come with a colour postcard with the LP cover artwork, hand-signed by Small Faces drummer Kenney Jones on one side and a facsimile of a Decca band member biog on the other side. The Small Faces ended in 1969 when Steve Marriott left to form Humble Pie and Kenney Jones, Ronnie Lane and Ian McLagan formed the Faces with Rod Stewart and Ronnie Lane. Members also later went onto playing with The Who, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, and many, many more. They are one of the most highly regarded UK groups from the sixties, a fact recently endorsed by tributes for a Small Faces boxset from David Bowie, Robert Plant, Paul Weller, Nick Mason, Glen Matlock, Chad Smith, Paul Stanley, Rick Nielsen, Peter Frampton, John Lodge, Russell Mael and many, many more. The Small Faces were, as Pete Townsend lovingly called them: “A place of joy in the early UK music scene. A complete delight.” Complete Greatest Hits! Inhaler [RSD Drops 2021]

LP: $ UNAVAILABLE

July Exclusive

Grunge metal greatness! This 1993 record marked Tad's major label debut (on the Giant imprint), and for it the band brought in Dinosaur Jr.'s J Mascis to produce. The result was a more focused album than Tad's previous outings, laced with piledriver riffs 'n' hooks and some wicked humor, even as the band grappled with such disturbing topics as Ted Bundy and child abduction. The band toured with Soundgarden behind this record; though that didn't lead to the hoped-for commercial breakthrough, it did cement Inhaler's status as the go-to record in Tad's catalog. Only out on LP for a heartbeat upon its initial release, and never reissued since, Inhaler comes in tan, black and red "Mutt Mix" swirl vinyl limited to 3000 copies for RSD Drops.
